Black History Month 2024: Truly Alive Youth and Family Foundation Unveils a Month of Celebration

[SASKATOON, FEBRUARY 1, 2024] — Truly Alive Youth and Family Foundation Inc. (TAYFFI) is thrilled to announce a spectacular lineup of events in commemoration of Black History Month 2024. Under the theme “Black Awakening,” TAYFFI is set to host a series of unique and engaging activities throughout the month of February by shining a spotlight on the rich heritage and contributions of Black and African Descent communities in Saskatchewan.

Proclamation Ceremonies and Joint Statement

Kicking off the month, TAYFFI invites you to witness our virtual Proclamation Ceremonies on February 1, 2024 via Facebook Live at 2:30pm CST, featuring the Saskatchewan Black Communities Joint Statement and Calls to Action Declaration. This solemn event sets the tone for a month of reflection, education, and celebration.

Afrocentric Symposium – Building Community Connections

Experience Saskatchewan’s first-ever Afrocentric Symposium on February 8th – 9th, 2024, at TCU Place. Join us for a transformative experience as we delve into Black History Month, engaging in conversations that inspire change, build community connections, and foster sustainable growth.

Black Heritage Education – Debunking StereotypesFrom February 12 to February 19, TAYFFI will engage with community groups, institutions, and corporate organizations, delivering presentations on Black Heritage and informing groups about Black heritage. These sessions aim to uphold facts, debunk myths, and dismantle stereotypes about Black people and Black culture.

2024 Black History Month Gala – A Night of Elegance and Recognition

Mark your calendars for the most anticipated event of the month – the 2024 Black History Month Gala on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. Join us for an elegant evening and ceremony celebrating Black achievers, recognizing the Black community, and enjoying the serenade of an Afro live band. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable night!
