My Hair, My Crown – Black Heritage Program

We’re excited to announce our latest heritage appreciation program My Hair, My Crown, a transformative program designed for Black youth ages 8–25 to celebrate natural hair, cultural identity, and the beauty of our roots.
Dates: November 19, 2025 – February 11, 2026
Schedule:
- Mondays (Youth ages 8–14 years)
- Wednesdays (Youth ages 15–25 years)
Time: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: 3‑320 Jessop Avenue
What to Expect
Through hands‑on workshops, participants will:
- Explore the history and cultural significance of Black hair
- Learn about curl patterns, porosity, and healthy hair care
- Practice protective styling and maintenance techniques
- Build confidence and embrace their identity
- Connect with peers in a safe, affirming, and empowering environment
This is a space where every young person can feel seen, supported, and celebrated
