Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our dynamic team for the position of Communications and Outreach Consultant.

The Communications and Outreach Consultant will play an active role in planning, researching, organizing, and implementing communications strategies to advance TAYFFI’s service impact supporting Black and racialized communities across Saskatchewan communities.

Integral to the success of this role is the incumbent’s ability to maintain consultative collaboration with key stakeholders from Anglophone, Francophone, and minority language communities in Saskatoon and beyond to develop social-impact programs and strategies towards ensuring no one is left behind in receiving support and resources relating to achieving positive socioeconomic outcomes and quality of life.

Employment Classification:

Term Contract, Immediately May 2026 – March 2027 (with possibility of extension)

Work Hours/Schedule:

150hrs/month; Monday – Friday; 9:00am – 5:00pm (flexible arrangements as per clients’ needs and employer’s business)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

i. Conduct ongoing market research and environmental scans of communications opportunities in the social service and interdisciplinary sector in Saskatchewan, and stay up to date on trends to recommend adjustments to communication strategies

ii. Develop and execute communications plans, editorial calendars, and content programs for member and partner email campaigns, social media, and the website

iii. Develop and implement marketing campaigns to maximize brand visibility and drive interest in TAYFFI’s programs and services

iv. Assist in managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, audience engagement, and data analysis to improve efficiency and overall performance

v. Develop and distribute TAYFFI’s internal newsletter and open-source resources, and evaluate and optimize online content for engagement, usability, lead generation, and impact

vi. Identify and support TAYFFI’s visibility across inter-sectoral industry channels at local, provincial, and national levels, including events, media, awards, and sponsorships

vii. Plan and coordinate speaking engagements, public events, conferences, and promotional activities to strengthen brand awareness among key stakeholders

viii. Perform active outreach to press outlets, partners, and influencers, respond to media inquiries, and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media representatives

ix. Develop a performance assessment framework for TAYFFI’s programs to ensure alignment with strategic goals and responsiveness to community needs

x. Identify and track new and recurring grant and funding opportunities, maintaining a database of relevant funding sources

xi. Conceptualize projects and initiatives addressing emerging socioeconomic and quality-of-life challenges affecting key populations

xii. Develop high-quality proposals and grant applications in response to calls for proposals, ensuring consistency, readability, and appropriate tone

xiii. Provide oversight and coordination for approved communication programs, including editing materials to ensure compliance with TAYFFI’s brand guidelines

xiv. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or their designate

Education and Experience:

i. Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing, communications, or public relations

ii. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities; fluency in English, French, and any other minority language is an asset

iii. Proven experience in digital advertising, email marketing, and targeted inter-sectoral outreach

iv. Proficiency in analyzing campaign data and metrics and translating insights into actionable outcomes

v. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

vi. Strong technical and analytical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Analytics, with expertise in graphic design tools such as Photoshop and Canva, and proficiency in content creation and editing software

vii. Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively across all levels of an organization

viii. Highly motivated self-starter with strong accountability, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, attention to detail, and creativity

ix. Ability to meet tight deadlines and execute projects effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, seeing tasks through to completion

x. Flexibility with working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, and possession of a personal vehicle with a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
