ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
Truly Alive Youth and Family Foundation Inc (TAYFFI) creates spaces and provides bespoke services for members of Black and other racialized/equity-deserving communities in the Greater Saskatoon Metropolis and across Saskatchewan province towards becoming engaged and contributing members of the society.
As a Black-led charity, the Truly Alive Youth and Family Foundation Inc holds leadership credit in providing tailored support and other essential services that address systemic challenges Black Canadians face.
TAYFFI serves as the conduit for Saskatchewan Coalition of Black Canadians and engages with various levels of government on conversations relevant for shaping policies and changing systems particularly as it pertains to civic participation, economic relevance, health equity, heritage preservation, equal treatment, and equal protection of Black People under the law in Canada.
At TAYFFI, individuals and families access barrier-free programs and support services that meet their unique needs in key aspects of culturally relevant counselling and mental health care, business ideation and career training, family support and parenting education, youth mentorship and life skills training, community leadership and civic participation, care for Black/ethnocultural seniors, culture continuity and heritage education, access to justice, and many more.
We work collaboratively with Indigenous communities as an ally and we are always open to learning from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers as we journey the path to Truth and Reconciliation together.
TAYFFI envisions and actively work towards the realization of a socially cohesive and civically engaged Saskatchewan society where everyone’s potential is allowed to flourish and blossom.
