Arati “Chatty” Chattopadhyay is a respected healthcare professional, entrepreneur, writer, and community leader with decades of service in Saskatchewan.
Originally from India, Arati is a graduate of Delhi University’s College of Nursing. After immigrating to Canada in 1968, she built a 34-year nursing career in Saskatchewan, serving at Unity Union Hospital, Royal University Hospital, and Saskatoon City Hospital before retiring in 2002.
Her commitment to community extends well beyond healthcare. Arati founded Chatty’s Indian Spices Inc. in 1995 and has contributed her time and leadership to numerous community and cultural organizations. She is a founding and life member of the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan and a life member of the India-Canada Cultural Association.
Her contributions to community service, entrepreneurship, and cultural life have been recognized through several honours, including TAYFFI’s Ethno Community Cultural Ambassador Award in 2023, the Women Entrepreneur of Saskatchewan Award, and the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award.
Arati is also a writer and poet, and remains actively engaged in Saskatchewan’s literary and cultural community. Through her involvement with TAYFFI, including the Seniors Program Advisory Council, she brings valuable experience, community knowledge, and a longstanding commitment to supporting ethnocultural communities.
